| AGI Group's large volume of shipping has earned the maximum discounts from all of our carriers. We pass all of the savings on to you. AGI Group, Inc. is working to control shipping costs for all of our products. There are some areas where you, our valued customer, can participate in this savings effort. Recent increases in fuel costs have resulted in surcharges for fuel and enforcement of other charges that had been largely ignored in the past by most common carriers.
AGI Group, Inc. is proud to maintain an average cost at 6 to 10% of the total order for most shipping; however, there is one notable exception. Common carriers such as Roadway, Overnight Freight, Watkins, DHL, R & L Gator, etc., are now enforcing the residential delivery charge of $50. This charge is added to the freight bill for any delivery made to a noncommercial address. The justification is reasonable when you consider the driver must modify his route to an out-of-the-way destination on residential roads not designed for large trucks to a facility that is ill-prepared to handle or off load the shipment. Often it is difficult to schedule a delivery time, and you must be there to accept and sign for the delivery.
AGI Group has negotiated a relationship with FedEx that allows us to deliver to you utilizing the New FedEx Ground system. FedEx has provided special pricing and delivery options that reduce the cost of shipping for all of our customers.
Here is where you come in. Many of our customers have an office or a commercial address where a shipment can be delivered. Thus avoiding the $50 residential delivery fee.
Shipping Damage.,,, What should you do?
Sadly it does happen; but fortunately, very few shipments are damaged. Inspect all boxes at time of delivery. Note any damage on the delivery receipt. If you detect any damage to a package or box, we recommend you immediately open the damaged box in front of the driver. If the product is damaged we suggest you refuse the shipment.
